Cats is a fantasy musical based on the iconic stage musical of the same name. The movie adaptation that’s directed by Tom Hooper (Les Misérables) is has many CGI issues and a lackluster story-line. However the movie is elevated by its fantastic cast performances, music and choreography. So to me it is an average movie that I would score 5 out of 10.

“Cats” could have been a better movie without all the CGI hiccups, but it’s doubtful it would have been a satisfying one. “Cats” movie musical is a welcome reassurance that live theater still does some things better than film. Making us believe in humanoid cats is one of them.
